Principal among the sensors aboard the MH-60R are:
- the Telephonics APS-147 multi-mode radar with a feature called ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) to identify ships at long range, periscope detection capability, IFF, and a short-range capability for finding the host ship in foul weather,
- 25 sonobuoys and the Raytheon AN/AQS-22 Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS) system for undersea warfare missions,
- the Lockheed Martin ALQ-210 electronic support measures system for passive detection, location and identification of emitters,
- the MK 54 lightweight torpedo capable of striking any target in the world’s oceans, regardless of water depth,
- the self defense system simultaneously performs situational awareness and threat warning functions,
- the Raytheon AN/AAS-44C(V) Multi-Spectral Targeting System for surveillance, target acquisition, tracking, range finding, and laser designation also includes a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) optical sensor for long-range imaging and video of targets of interest and
- Electronic warfare systems including a laser warning system and an infrared jammer, chaff and flare decoy dispenser,
- and an integrated self-defense system providing chaff and flare countermeasures against missile threats.
Armaments include Lockheed Martin’s HELLFIRE missiles, lightweight torpedoes and .50 caliber and 7.62 mm machine guns.
